HOW IT WORKS?
CBD interacts with the body via the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which is a biological system of neurotransmitters present in the bodies of all mammals. All animals have cannabinoid receptors in their bodies. CB1 receptors are found in the brain and central nervous system, whilst CB2 receptors are located in the peripheral organs, muscles, cardiovascular system, and immune system cells. Animal brain sends signals via these receptors to many parts of the body.

- help cells to fight free radicals
- help the body to fight cancer and the growth of tumour cells

Acute pain
Cannabinoids with CBD are so effective in pain relief that an increasing number of scientists tend to agree that cannabis products will substitute standard medicines for chronic as well as acute pain relief. Studies show that CBD effectively relieves pain, including neuropathies and neuropathic pain, pain resulting from arthritis and other joint injuries and malformations.
In horses, CBD extremely effectively relieves severe pain in case of very common laminitis and pain resulting from all types of joint disease. Horses also often suffer from pain in the lower parts of limbs, both joints and tendons, which are extremely overloaded in sport horses. In such cases, CBD is used for pain relief; it also has an anti-inflammatory effect.

| Seizures and epilepsy
More than 5% of all dogs suffer from various types of seizures. Most of them are still treated with Phenobarbital, which is used as medicine for dogs with such seizures. But medicines are not effective for all patients and, moreover, they have many side effects. CBD has been proven effective in treatment-resistant epilepsy.
A study conducted on children with treatment-resistant epilepsy has shown a substantially reduced number of seizures in 84% children who received CBD.

| Borreliosis and other infections
Lyme borreliosis is a widespread disease transmitted by ticks. The infected dogs who do not receive treatment are at risk of the disease spreading to their glands, heart and kidneys. A few years ago, Dr. Murakami started researching Lyme borreliosis, namely the effect of CBD on live spirochete, the bacteria that cause this disease. The results were very positive. He presented his study for the first time in 2014.
Antibiotics have lately not been very effective in the treatment of borreliosis. CBD helps with depression and anxiety, severe muscle and nerve pain and inflammations that accompany this disease.

Many dog owners are worried about cardiovascular problems such as congestive heart failure, heart disease and problems with the vascular system. | Post op therapy
CBD is effective for patients who have undergone surgery. It has a proven beneficial effect on pain relief after surgery. Thanks to its anti-inflammatory effects, it protects the body from any secondary bacterial infections after surgery and, consequently, reduced inflammation relieves pain.
